Pre-Op

Going up to Toronto tonight for surgery tomorrow. Still have no idea what exactly they are taking out of me.

Went to Emergency last night because I couldn't take the pain. They gave me a shot of Toradol and a shot of Morphine then told me to double my prescribed dose of oral morphine. That did the trick. But holy crap, does this double dose ever make me sleepy! But it is nice to sleep well again after a week of not being able to get comfortable.

I don't imagine that I'll be able to update the blog for at least a fews days after surgery because I don't think I'll have much use of my arm. I'll update as soon as I can.
This is a pic from 2 weeks ago. I think that was the last time I was out of my pyjamas. LOL.

Okay, it's official. I suck. I can't believe I haven't checked in on you in so long and I can't believe what's going on with you.

This may seem like one of those creepy internet stalking things, but I want to offer my place to you here in Texas. If you really want to be in the states for treatment, this is your chance. If you want state of the art care, for cheap or even free, you can get it here. I can't say much for America's health plan, but for the county where I live, I can tell you it's been the best I could ever imagine, especially not having insurance. If it will set your mind at ease, you're welcome to it.

I hope you're okay- not just physically, but dealing with all the BS of this disease, I'm sure I don't have to tell you, is overwhelming. Even if you just need to get away- my place is here for you.

You're right smack in the middle of my mind, and I promise if you come, I'll never make fun of you for not getting out of your pjs.

Hey Sarah,

I'll be sending out a ton of good thoughts for you tomorrow. I'm so glad you got something effective for the pain. You look great in the photograph even thought I know you've been through hell. I hope that the surgery and subsequent treatments will be precisely the right ones for you.

As ever, Carver

Thinking of you Sarah! Hope all goes successfully at your surgery! I was thinking of you today what I was doing my United Way form - I looked up the Canadian Melanoma Foundation and directed some $$ to them.
